JU Reasi Campus organizes lecture series

REASI, Jan 8: Reasi Campus of the Jammu University organized one day lecture series on the topic, “The Unsung Heroes of Indian Freedom Movement”, here today.
During the event, which was part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, students presented their lecture on the various unsung heroes of Indian freedom movement like Khan Abdul Gaffar Khan, Durga Bai Deshmukh, Birsa Munda, Tara Rani Shrivastav, Peer Ali Khan, Kamla Devi, Ashfaq Ullah Khan etc.
The first, second and third prize were won by Sabha Akhtar, Mohd Saleem and Rajni Rasyal, respectively. Shakti Devi was awarded with consolation prize.
Saraf Singh Nag, Chairman, District Development Council (DDC), Reasi, who was chief guest on the occasion, said that such an event would provide knowledge to the youth about the great people of India who played vital role to achieve Indian independence. He emphasized that unless we know our history, we are not able to land in the future.
Prof S K Pandey, Director, Reasi Campus, who presided over the event, highlighted key objects of celebrating Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. He appreciated the efforts of the faculty members, non-teaching staff and students for making the event successful.
Diksha Bharti, Organizing Secretary, presented vote of thanks while Dr Nisha Sharma conducted the proceedings.
