JU organizes online Rangoli competition

JAMMU, Nov 21: Department of Students Welfare, University of Jammu (JU) and National Service Scheme (NSS) Campus Unit organized national level online Rangoli competition on the theme ‘Celebrating Life’ on the eve of Diwali.
A large number of NSS volunteers, students, scholars, teachers and alumni participated in the competition with great enthusiasm and fervour. The participants had to click and upload the photographs of their Rangoli for which an online form was created.
Rishi Koul of Maharshi Dayanand University Rohtak, Haryana bagged first prize, while second prize was shared by Anku Bhagat of Himachal Pradesh Technical University and Sahil Bains from Department of Library and Information Science, JU and third prize was shared by Sadhvi Sharma of KC College of Education Jammu, Gurdarshan of Department of Library Science, JU and Suhasini of GGM Science College, Cluster University Jammu. Certificates of merit were awarded to all the meritorious students.
Prof Manoj Kumar Dhar, Vice Chancellor of University of Jammu appreciated the efforts of organizers in keeping students engaged in the time of COVID-19 pandemic when everyone in under stress and confinement. “These types of activities keep students connected and encourage them to showcase their creativity,” he added.
The event was conducted under the supervision of Prof Jasbir Singh, Dean Students Welfare, JU and Prof Neeru Sharma, Chairperson NSS, Campus units. Prof Jasbir Singh lauded the efforts of all the participants for the successful conduct of online event while Prof Neeru Sharma laid stressed upon the need for more such online competitions.
The event was coordinated by Dr Meghna Dhar, NSS -Programme Officer, JU and Ifra Kak, Cultural Officer, Department of Students Welfare, JU with technical support of Vikas Pandita, Software Engineer and Gurdarshan, NSS volunteers.
