JAMMU, Nov 15: The Department of Law, University of Jammu, organized a comprehensive Legal Literacy and Legal Awareness Camp for LL B 6th semester (final semester) students.
The event took place at Panchayat Ghar, Block Majalta, HQ Mansar, District Udhampur today. The Legal Literacy and Legal Awareness Camp aimed to empower students with practical knowledge and insights into the legal framework, equipping them with the necessary skills to navigate legal complexities effectively.
They disseminated knowledge about Right to Information Act, 2005, and the J&K Public Services Guarantee Act, 2011 for legal awareness. Students created awareness and collected data from the nearby villages. Students namely Manik Goswami, Insha Imtiaz, Sarfaraz Ahmed, Rajat Manhas, Purvi Kaul and kirtika delivered short lectures to the villagers.
This significant initiative was conducted under the auspices of the Legal Literacy and Legal Awareness Committee, helmed by Prof Sanjay Gupta. The camp witnessed active participation from Dr Raj K Sandhu, Assistant Professor and Advocate Meenu Sharma, Advocate Shveta Gupta, guest faculty, BDO Majalta Officials, Nidhi Kralia (JKAS), Mohan Thappa (Inspector Panchayat), Vijay Lakshmi, Harshvardhan, Varun Manhas and Sahil Sharma (A/c Assistant) and Sunil Bhardwaj, and Monish Gupta (Jr Assistant), and Sarpanch and Panch of nearby villages.
Support of Arslaan Rashid, Pankaj Sharma, Parul Sharma (Ph D Scholar), Sheetal Priya (Ph D. Scholar), Vidushi Manhas (LLM Scholar), Nikita Jamwal (LLM Scholar) was instrumental in ensuring the success of the camp, which organized under the leadership of Prof Manju Jamwal, HoD Law.
