JAMMU, Oct 27: The protest of Non-Gazetted Employees Union of University of Jammu (JU) here today in support of their demands entered day 41.
Union vice president, Suraj told reporters that non-gazetted employees of JU are not getting proper pay grades.
He said that this is their long pending demand to which the JU authorities are not paying any attention.
He included regularization of daily wagers working with the varsity in other demands and said that these daily wagers are working with JU for the last over seven years.
Repair of the main gate of the varsity was another demand of the protesters.
Union leader, Suraj further said that there should be a toilet for the staff involved in JU security at the main gate.
He said that watchmen and other similar staffers of the varsity face a lot of problems in getting a leave during some emergency like for attending last rites of relatives etc.
