JU lifts women cricket title, KU seals berth in men’s final

JAMMU, Mar 25: Outplaying NIT Kashmir by 6 wickets in the semifinal, University of Kashmir sealed berth in the finals of the ongoing 2nd State Universities Sports Championship 2018, being organized by the Directorate of Sports & Physical Education, University of Jammu at the University Campus, here.
In another men’s cricket match, Cluster University of Srinagar drubbed IUST Awantipora by 11 runs.
In Cricket (Women), the University of Jammu team beat Cluster University Srinagar by 6 wickets in the final and lifted the Cricket Championship.
The BGSBU Rajouri team beat SMVDU Katra by 22 runs and won the bronze medal.
The participating teams included University of Jammu, University of Kashmir, SKUAST Jammu, SKUAST Kashmir, Central University Jammu, Central University Kashmir, Cluster University Jammu, Cluster University Srinagar, NIT Srinagar, SKIMS Soura, BGSB University Rajouri, SMVDU Katra, Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan Jammu, Islamic University of Science & Technology Awantipora and Central Institute of Buddhist Studies Leh.
In Football (Men), University of Jammu beat BGSBU Rajouri by 2-1; IUST Awantipora trounced Cluster University Jammu by 3-0.
BGSBU Rajouri team beat Cluster University Jammu by 3-1 and won bronze medal.
In Badminton (Women), the University of Jammu defeated SKUAST Jammu by 2-0 and won the Badminton (W) Championship.
SMVDU Katra team beat University of Kashmir by 2-0 and to win the bronze medal.
In Badminton (Men), the University of Jammu defeated Cluster University Jammu by 3-2 and won the Badminton (M) Championship.
NIT Kashmir drubbed Central University Jammu by 3-1 and won the bronze medal.
In Basketball (Women), the University of Jammu outplayed SMVDU Katra by 9 points and won the Championship
The University of Kashmir beat SKIMS, Soura by 20 points and won the bronze medal.
In Basketball (Men), University of Jammu beat Central University Jammu by 30 points and Cluster University Jammu drubbed University of Kashmir by 22 points, while in the final, Cluster University Jammu beat the University of Jammu by 3 points and won the Basketball (Men) Championship.
The University of Kashmir beat Central University Jammu by 22 points and won the bronze medal.
In Table-Tennis (Men), University of Kashmir beat Central University Jammu by 3-0, NIT Srinagar beat Cluster University Jammu by 3-1
and SMVDU Katra defeated BGSBU Rajouri by 3-0.
In Table-Tennis (Women), University of Jammu thrashed University of Kashmir by 3-0 and SMVDU Katra beat Cluster University Jammu by 3-0.
In Volleyball (Women) final, University of Jammu beat Cluster University Jammu by 3-0 and won the Volleyball (Women) Championship.
CIBS Leh beat BGSBU Rajouri by 3-0 and won the bronze medal.
In Volleyball (Men) final, Cluster University Jammu beat University of Jammu by 3-2 and won the Volleyball (M) Championship.
University of Kashmir beat BGSBU Rajouri by 3-0 and won the bronze medal.
