JAMMU, Sept 24: In a step forward towards e-governance, Jammu University today launched online Pay Slip facility for faculty, officers and other employees of the university.
The software ensures foolproof confidentiality of the staff that can download Salary Statement by just logging in on to JU website with their username and password.
The facility was formally inaugurated by JU Vice-Chancellor Prof Mohan Paul Singh Ishar, who described e-governance as an important tool for ensuring transparency. He said the online process would not only be cost effective but also reduce the workload on the staff in the Budget & Finance Section. Basic challenge which University faced was to provide timely Payslip to nine offsite campuses but by this facility that major bottleneck has been overcome, Prof Ishar said and complimented Guneet Sudan, I/C Director, Centre for IT enabled Services & Management and his staff especially Vinod Parihar, Asst Programmer for developing this solution.
The VC stressed upon to continue efforts to deliver additional features and convenience to employees through online employee self service.
Among others, present on the occasion, included Prof Manoj Dhar, Registrar, Jai Kumar Sharma, Special Secretary to VC, Prof Naresh Padha, Dr D L Chaudhary, Dr Jatinder Khajuria, Dr Dawood Iqbal Baba and Vinay Thusoo.
