JAMMU, Oct 26: Despite repeated instructions from the Chancellor (Governor) for the last 10 years, Jammu University has failed to conduct the interviews for various administrative posts hence disrespecting the highest authoritative person of the institution.
This was stated by State president of National Secular Forum (NSF), Dr Vikas Sharma, while addressing a press conference, here today. “JU authorities have been befooling the meritorious and genuine people by inviting applications for the top administrative positions, but not conducting interviews for the same,” he said.
“The posts of Registrar, Director College Development Council, Director Physical Education, Director DDE, Controller of Examination, Administrator GZSA have remained unfilled for the last over ten years and every year advertisements are issued just as a formality with no serious efforts to fill these posts,” he added.
While displaying a copy of the latest advertisement for these posts, vide No: Estab/NTW/ C&R/17/2475-2574 Dated 3-7-2017, which reads “the University reserves the right not to fill up any of the vacancies advertised”, the NSF leader said this confirms the impression that advertisement notice has been issued publically every year just to hoodwink and gag the smoldering sentiments of aggrieved aspiring candidates.
“The height of arrogance and JU authorities can be gauged from the fact that despite directions from Raj Bhawan from time to time to hold interviews for these posts, these has been no implementation of the instruction in this regard,” he alleged and urged the Chancellor and Pro-Chancellor to immediately intervene and direct the Vice Chancellor to conduct the interviews immediately.
