JU among leading multidisciplinary institutions in THE WEEK rankings

JAMMU, May 26: University of Jammu, NAAC accredited A++ University with 51st rank in NIRF under University Category, has achieved another significant milestone by securing the 13th position among State Multidisciplinary Universities in India and 8th position in the North Zone Multidisciplinary Universities Category in the prestigious THE WEEK-Hansa Research Survey 2026.
University of Jammu also figured at rank 21 in Government (Central and State) Multidisciplinary Universities at All India level.
The ranking reflects the University’s continuous commitment towards academic excellence, quality research, innovation and holistic student development and further reinforces its position as a leading centre of higher education and research in the region.
The survey 2026, conducted by Hansa Research Agency for prestigious THE WEEK magazine, evaluated universities across India on the basis of institutional accreditation, institutional performance, infrastructure & facilities, faculty quality, research & academics and student support systems. A primary survey involving around 600 academic experts from various cities across the country formed the basis of the rankings along with data obtained from the universities and secondary sources.
Expressing deep gratitude to the Chancellor and Lieutenant Governor of Jammu & Kashmir, Manoj Sinha and Pro- Chancellor and Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah, Vice-Chancellor Prof Umesh Rai said that the University remains committed to further enhancing excellence in academics, research, outreach, infrastructure, and student support services. He attributed the achievement to the dedicated and collective efforts of the faculty, officers, staff, scholars, and students who have continuously worked towards strengthening the University’s academic and research profile.
This accomplishment further consolidates the position of University of Jammu as one of the country’s premier institutions of higher learning.
