JTN demands best higher education system in Ladakh

JAMMU, Nov 29: Member of Parliament from Ladakh, Jamyang Tsering Namgyal raised the matters of Higher Education system of Union Territory of Ladakh in the Lok Sabha during Zero Hour today.
While sharing gratitude to the Modi Sarkar for sanctioning Ladakh University under RUSA, two additional Degree Colleges, one Medical College, National Institute for Sowa-Rigpa and Deemed University Status to CIBS in Ladakh, MP Ladakh demanded for conversion of the Ladakh University to Central University as of now Ladakh has been made a Union Territory.
He reiterated introduction of various faculties and filling of vacant posts in the existing six colleges in Ladakh with immediate effect. MP Ladakh suggested functioning of Medical College in existing hospital until proper infrastructure gets ready in Ladakh. He further demanded recognition of the Deemed University (CIBS) under UGC Act so that students from Ladakh won’t be compelled to migrate outside Ladakh to persue their high education.
The MP from Ladakh further narrated about migration of Ladakhi students to cities like Delhi, Chandigarh, Bangalore Jammu to pursue higher education which results into cultural degradation/dilution, economical burden, emotional and mental stress.
