JAMMU, July 20: A protest rally was held jointly by Jagti Tenement Committee (JTC) and Soan Kashmir Front at Jagti migrant camp near here today under the leadership of Shadi Lal Pandita, President JTC.
During the protest rally slogans were raised against the prevailing conditions in Kashmir valley and harassment and torture to which the migrant Pandit employees putting up in Kashmir valley at different places and also Shri Amarnath Yatries were subjected to by the mob.
While addressing the protesters Pandita said that the migrant employees were performing their duties effectively and with dedication but were subjected to harassments and tortures without any fault on their part which has proved that the situation of Kashmir valley has reached the stage of 1990 when the entire community was forced to leave Kashmir valley and now the migrant Pandit employees have again been forced to leave from Kashmir to save their lives.
Pandita has demanded that all migrant employees be adjusted in Jammu in different offices set up for migrants till the time the community is permanently rehabilitated in Kashmir Valley in safe and secure place to lead a dignified life.
He said that eviction of Pandit migrant employees from Kashmir seem a hatched conspiracy by Hurriyat Conference and the separatists at the instance of their masters in Pakistan. The JTC/SKF burnt the Flag of Pakistan and shouted slogans against the Pakistan and Hurriyat Conference.
Pandita said that those members of the majority community in Kashmir who were opposing separate township for rehabilitation of Kashmiri Pandits in Valley and demanding their resettlement in their native localities have failed to protect those Kashmiri Pandits still living in their respective localities as well as those migrant employees putting up in hired accommodations in the houses of Muslims in different areas of Kashmir valley who have been subjected to harassments and tortures by the subversives at the instance of Hurriyat conference.
Raj Kumar Tickoo, convener Jagti Tenement Committee (JTC), Sunil Koul, B. N. Thusso, Raj Kumar Bhat, Shiban Ji Raina, S. L. Kar, Hari Krishan Pandita, M.L. Pandita, Mithan Pandita, Vijay Pandita and others addressed the protest.
