JTC, Soan Kashmir Front highlight problems

JAMMU, May 10: Jagti Tenement Committee (JTC) and Soan Kashmir Front held a joint meeting, under the chairmanship of its president Shadi Lal Pandita and highlighted the problems being faced by the residents of Jagti Township, Nagrota.
Mr Pandita said that due to continuous 14-16 hours curtailment of the Power supplied to the Camp area, the people in general and the old aged and school children in particular are left in the lurch, adding that despite informing the concerned authorities about the power curtailment time and again, they are least concerned about solving the problem.
He further said that the water supply scheme for the Township was set-up in River Tawi and the supply comes weekly, making the people to drink unhygienic muddy and dirty water, which is extremely harmful.
The members appealed the authorities to make new Water Supply Arrangement for the welfare of the residents in the Camp.
The also appealed the Government to enhance the cash assistance from the present structure to Rs 15000 per family.
Prominent among others who participated in the meeting were Rajinder Dhar, Sanjay Pandita, Sunil Raina, Vijay Pandita, S L Kar, Mithan Pandita, Shuban Raina, Ramesh Bhat, M L Akhoon, M L Pandita, Gopi Nath Shah, S N Gurtu and GL Bhat.
