JTC, SKF warn to intensify agitation

JAMMU, Dec 22: Reiterating their demands, the protesting activists of Jagti Tenement Committee (JTC) and Soan Kashmir Front (SKF) today warned to intensify their 82 day long agitation in case Government fails to settle their demands.
The protesting activists of the two organizations accused the Government of their total callousness towards the demands of displaced people from Valley who are facing many hardships and mental agony since their mass exodus from Kashmir in 1989-90.
The dharna is led by Shadi Lal Pandita, president of JTC and SKF at Jagti township. While highlighting the demands, he stressed on their redressal immediately. The protestors are demanding hike in cash assistance for relief holders, announcement of 20,000 more posts for displaced youth under PM package with 5000 Class -IV posts, formation of Shrine Board for protection of Hindu shrines in Valley, construction of three satellite townships near district headquarters of Anantnag, Srinagar and Baramulla in Kashmir for settlement and rehabilitation of displaced people from Valley.
They are also demanding free ration to pensioners and compensation for damaged properties as well as to over-aged displaced youth and on spot recruitment in police and para military forces in camps and non camp migrant bastis.
