JAMMU, July 16: A joint meeting of the Jagti Tenement Committee (JTC) and Soan Kashmir Front (SKF) was held today under the chairmanship of P.L. Thussu and discussed the permanent rehabilitation of Kashmiri Pandits in Kashmir Valley.
Shadi Lal Pandita president of JTC and SKF while welcoming the statement of the Governor for the rehabilitation of the KPs in Valley, said that his organisation is demanding setting-up of the three townships in the Valley at district headquarters of Baramulla, Srinagar and Anantnag Kashmir.
It said one township for those Kashmiri migrants who hailing from Bandipora, Baramulla and Kupwara in between the Kupwara and Narabal, second township for KP from Budgam, Srinagar and Ganderbal near Sheikhpora and third township for the migrants hailing from Anantnag, Kulgam, Shopian and Pulwama in between Anantnag and Awantipora with all facilities of political and minority States.
Other demands discussed in the meeting included enhancement of cash relief from Rs 13,000 to Rs 25, 000 per month per family, filling up of remaining posts of PM’s employment package, creation of 3000 class fourth posts for displaced youth, release of compensation to damaged properties and gutted houses, removal of encroachments from migrants property and their religious places, release of balance ex-gratia relief, launching of on spot recruitment drive in police for migrant youth.
