JAMMU, Apr 24: A joint meeting of the Jagti Tenement Committee (JTC) and Soan Kashmir Front (SKF) J&K was held here, today under the chairmanship of Shadi Lal Pandita, president JTC/SKF J&K. The meeting was attended by the office bearers and members of the organisations.
During the course of meeting discussions were held regarding the problems confronted to Kashmiri Pandit migrants.
While addressing the participants Shadi Lal Pandita has said that though the Kashmiri Pandit migrants community is very much interested in their return and rehabilitation in Kashmir valley but some vested interested agencies have been misleading the Government saying that Kashmiri Pandit migrant community is not willing for their return and rehabilitation in Kashmir Valley and the Government both at Central level as well as State level has remained silent in ensuring return and rehabilitation of this community living in exile for past more than 28 years.
Pandita has said that in case the Government is committed to return and rehabilitation of the Kashmiri migrants in Kashmir valley. Three township are required to be brought up for the purpose for ensuring dignified living of this community in Kashmir valley.
He further said that the Government had assured that 6000 additional quarters/flats shall be brought up in different districts of Kashmir valley for accommodating the migrant employees serving in Kashmir valley but nothing has been done in this regard particularly in districts of Kupwara and Baramulla. He has demanded that 3000 flats be constructed in districts of Kupwara and Baramulla for accommodating the migrant employees.
