JTC, SKF for reserving 3 Assembly seats for Pandits in Valley

JAMMU, Mar 9: A Joint meeting of Jagti Tenement Committee (JTC) and Soan Kashmir Front (SKF) was held here, today under the chairmanship of Shadi Lal Pandita, president of both the organisations.
The meeting expressed grave concern over depriving the Kashmiri Pandit community of due representation in the State Legislative Assembly, as no opportunity has been provided to the community members to contest elections to represent it.
While addressing the meeting Shadi Lal Pandita said that though the migrants have been using their franchise during elections by casting their votes for the candidates of their respective constituencies still the community is lacking the representation in the Assembly.
Pandita has demanded creating of three Assembly constituencies for Baramulla covering migrants of district Baramula, Kupwara and Bandipora another for migrants of districts Srinagar, Budgam and Ganderbal and one Assembly constituency for migrants of district Anantnag, Kulgam, Pulwala and Shopian for which the exiled community be allowed to cast their vote from Jammu and other parts of country where they are putting up till their honourable and dignified return to Valley. The Assembly Constituency be named as Assembly Segment of Srinagar, Baramulla and Anantnag, he added.
