JTC, SKF continue protest

JAMMU, Sept 6: Protest cum sit-in was held by Jagti Tenement Committee (JTC) and Soan Kashmir Front (SKF) under the leaderships of its president, Shadi Lal Pandita at Jagti township today.
Addressing the protesters Pandita said that JTC and SKF has been protesting for 339 days but the UT and Center Government has adopted a step motherly attitude towards them.
Pandita said that the relief holders are forced to take any extreme step and the Government will be responsible for that in case it failed to enhance the cash relief.
He reiterate the demand for enhancement of relief from Rs13,000 to Rs 25,000 so that they do not face problems in feeding their families during these hard days. Pandita also said that the long standing issues of exiled Kashmiri Pandits should be resolved as soon as possible.
He demanded a package of 20,000 jobs for unemployed youth be announced and preference should be given to those families which have no serving Government employee in their families. Besides, on spot recruitment should be held for migrants in camps and non camp areas, they should be paid compensation for the losses suffered by them and interest free loans to over aged youth.
He also demanded construction of three townships for settlement of displaced pundits in districts of Anantnag, Srinagar and Baramulla.
