JAMMU, Dec 20: Jagti Tenement Committee (JTC) and Soan Kashmir Front (SKF) have accused the Government of its total failure in settling the long pending demands of the displaced people from Valley.
At a joint press conference JTC president, Shadi Lal Pandita and its newly appointed chairman, P L Thusoo warned that in case authorities continue delaying tactics to solve the problems of migrants in general and Jagti camp inmates in particular they will be forced to come to streets.
They reiterated the demand of three satellite townships within Valley, grant of one time compensation to the tune of Rs 50 lakh for the losses suffered by the community during the period of turmoil and improvement of power supply to Jagti camp which faces over 12 hour curtailment daily. They also demanded enhancement of cash relief to Rs 15000 per family per month, completion of 40 bedded hospital at Jagti, implementation of PM’s employment package, completion of sports stadium, construction of shopping complex at Jagti, reservation of seats in professional colleges, grant of scholarships to migrant students, construction of boundary wall to Jagti camp, medicare facilities at Jagti dispensary, creation of 1000 posts of Class fourth for KP youth, restoration of encroached land in Valley belonging to community and its religious places, construction of 2000 TRTs at transit camps in Kashmir, inter-district transfer of employees posted in Valley, allotment of TRTs to bifurcated families, enhancement of ration quota to migrants and release of balanced ex-gratia and construction of three community halls at Jagti.
The JTC also nominated M L Akhoon as advisor, G L Bhat, Gopi Nath Shah and S L Tickoo as vice chairmen, Rajinder Dhar as chief organizer cum cashier and president Youth wing, Sanjay Pandita, B N Thusoo, Rattan Lal Bhat and S L Kar as vice presidents, S Raina as convener, Shuban Ji Raina, Mehtan Pandita, Satish Bhagati and Vijay Pandita as general secretaries, K L Pandita, Ramesh Bhat, Hari Krishan, R L Bhat, A K Tickoo and A K Dhar as secretaries/publicity secretaries.
Besides, 27 members were inducted as advisory members.
