JSM condemns dilly delaying policy of Finance Ministry on Ravi Canal Project

JAMMU, Oct 25: Jammu State Morcha (JSM) held a meeting under the chairmanship of its president, Prof Virender Gupta.
While speaking, Prof Gupta condemned the dilly delaying policy of Finance Ministry on the Ravi Canal Project submitted by the Irrigation Department in spite of the fact that reply to the queries raised by the Finance Department was sent to the department more than two months back.
Prof Gupta called upon the MLAs, MPs and Ministers belonging to Jammu province, particularly those of Congress party to stand behind Minister for PHE, Flood Control and Irrigation, Taj Mohi-ud-Din to get the project implemented at the earliest.
He criticized the Government for not implementing the schemes in the specified time frame and the funds allocated even by the Government of India remain unutilized.
Prof Gupta called upon the Minister of the concerned department and also the Chief Minister to take immediate steps to provide pure drinking water to the people.
He added that the projects should be properly monitored and funds utilized in the specified period vis-à-vis funds utilization certificate be submitted in schedule time.
