JAMMU, Feb 7: Jat Sabha Chandigarh (JSC) and Deenbandhu Choudhary Chhotu Ram Sabha (DCCRS) Jammu are jointly going to build a huge Yatri Niwas in Katra at a cost of Rs 20 crore.
This was disclosed today by Choudhary Dev Raj, president, Basmati Rice Growers’ Association, Indo-Pak Border Tehsil Suchetgarh, while addressing a press conference here today, along with other office bearers.
He said that the foundation stone of the project will be laid on February 10 by chief guest, Union Minister, Dr Jitendra and other guests, in a grand national-level function jointly organized by both the Sabhas. Governor Satya Pal Malik will also grace the occasion, he added.
Dev Raj further informed that on the occasion, the statue of Choudhary Chotu Ram will also be unveiled by the chief guest. He said that the Yatri Niwas to be built by both the Sabhas will be the first ever building in which devotees of Mata Vaishno Devi will get all kind of facilities during their night stay.
He said it is the first time in history of J&K that two Sabhas have come together to give devotees of Mata Vaishno Devi such a large Yatri Niwas for night stay, that too in the lap of Mata Vaishno Devi. “The occasion will be also used to honour recipients of Veer Chakra, Param Vir Chakra, war widows, sportsmen of outstanding talent and social workers doing commendable work in various fields, besides winning students of poster making competition,” Dev Raj added.
Also present in the press conference were Choudhary Krishan Lal, Bhagwan Singh, Choudhary Sarwan Singh, Ashok Randhawa and Harnam Singh.
