JAMMU, Jan 1: In a disproportionate assets case, Anti-Corruption Bureau Jammu has booked a Junior Assistant of JAKFED, presently posted as Junior Assistant in Deputy Commissioner Office, Kishtwar, and raided his residential premises at Jammu and Doda.
During raids, documents pertaining to various immovable properties acquired by accused public servant were recovered and seized. The house searches of accused public servant at Doda & Jammu were going on when the reports last came in.
A case, FIR No.47/2018, under section 5(1) (e) read with section 5(2) J&K Prevention Corruption Act, Svt 2006, has been registered against Mushtaq Ahmed Sheikh, son of Muhammad Sharief Sheikh of village Sanai (Khellani), Tehsil Bhalla of district Doda, presently residing on rent in a Flat at Makka Hills, near Makka Masjid, Bathindi Jammu, on the allegations of accumulating huge moveable / immovable assets quite disproportionate to his known legal sources of income.
The instant case was registered on the basis of a verification during which it has surfaced that accused Mushtaq Ahmed Sheikh has accumulated a triple storey house at village Sania (Khellani) in Doda and a double storey house at Gulmarg Colony, Bathindi. There is one more double storey house No.5 in lane No. 2/83 at Roopnagar (Chak Changerwan) in the name of his wife in Revenue records. Verification further revealed that the accused has purchased Duster Car, is in possession of a Scorpio and has huge balances in bank accounts as well in the shape of FDR’s. The expenditure incurred, the value of assets acquired and the balance in the bank accounts of. Mushtaq Ahmed Sheikh have been found to be more than the income earned by him from all known sources.
In order to unearth more valuable evidences regarding disproportionate proprieties held on the name of accused public servant and his family members, simultaneous raids were conducted by the ACB sleuths both at Doda and Jammu in the presence of independent witnesses, Magistrates and with the help of local police. During raids documents pertaining to various immovable properties acquired by accused public servant were recovered and seized.
