JPUF protests against anti-refugees move of Valley leaders

Excelsior Correspondent
JAMMU, Jan 12:  Taking serious note of the anti-refugees remarks of  NC, AIP (Awami Ittihad Party)  and other Valley based parties Jammu Pradesh United Front (JPUF)  staged a massive protest demonstration and strongly opposed and deplored the anti-national and divisive psyche of  some Kashmiri leaders.
The angry Front activists held strong protest and torched the effigy of  Hurriyat Conference leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani.
The protest was led by Balwant Singh Mankotia, convenor of  the Front and other senior leaders of  the various political and social organizations.  Amid vociferous slogans raised against the Kashmiri parties by the protestors of  JPUF  Balwant Singh disclosed that JPC (Joint Parliamentary Committee) formed by the Government of  India has sent the recommendations granting the citizenship rights to the West PaK Refugees and one time settlement of  PoJK and Chhamb refugees of 1947, 1965, 1971, besides de-freezing of eight Assembly seats to accommodate them.  He warned  any move to jeopardize the proposal will have serious repercussions.
Balwant Singh castigated the Kashmiri based parties and separatist organizations  for showing the negative posturing regarding the settlement proposal of the refugees and warned them to refrain from creating a communal disharmony and further polarization in the State.
“J&K State has been suffering because of the myopic mindset of  the leaders like Geelani, Er Rashid and Ali Mohd Sagar and their anti national rants have been instrumental in widening the fissures between the regions of the State.  The proposed relief package to the refugees who have been deprived of socio-political rights for the last 67 years should be perceived as a noble move of  philanthropy  and welcomed by all the sects of the society”, Mankotia said.
Mr Singh added that if these refugees had been settled in other countries like USA, UK or   Canada they would have attained the citizenship rights after three or four years.  “Organizations like Hurriyat Conference always project Kashmir issue as the case of  human right violation on the international forum and now why they are opposing the settlement proposal of the refugees justifying the human rights ?” Mankotia wondered.
Udey Chand, spokesman JPUF vowed to express the solidarity with the West Pak and other refugees and said the Front shall always stand with them in all odds and circumstances till the justice is delivered to them. He appealed  to  the  like minded Social organizations,  intellectual forums and political parties to join JPUF to strengthen its base and to intensify the movement.
Sunil Dimple, spokesman JPUF came down heavily on   the political leaders of Kashmir valley and asked them not to play with fire. He condemned the statements of  the PDP, NC, Hurriyat  Conference Chairman Sayeed Ali Shah Geelani and Er Rashid.  He said  no power on earth can stop the permanent settlement refugees in the State.
