JAMMU, June 20: Jammu Province Tourist Taxi Operators Federation (JPTTOF) has demanded the Government to start work on stalled as well as proposed tourist projects in Jammu on war footing and ensure their early completion in the interest of tourism industry of Jammu province.
Addressing a press conference, chairman of the Federation, Inderjit Sharma said that tourism and taxi industry are the backbone of the development of the State, but due to negligence of the State Government, the tourism in Jammu Province is diminishing.
To attract more tourists to Jammu, he demanded the Government to restart work on Jammu Tawi Artificial Lake project, which has been stopped due to the reasons best known to the authorities.
Sharma also asserted for starting work on Gandola Ropeway Project to boost tourism in Jammu.
Expressing anguish over negligence of the State Government towards Akhnoor City, Surinsar lake and Mansar lake, the Federation leader also stressed for development of these places.
He also emphasized the Government to develop Suchetgarh Border of RS Pura on the lines of Wagha Border of Amritsar, which is a famous destination for tourists of India and foreigners.
Sharma further stressed upon the Government to upgrade and provide all such facilities to picnic spots besides tourist and religious places, so that they can attract more and more tourists.
