JAMMU, May 6: Reiterating its stand and commitment towards the common cause of Jammu people, Jammu Province People Forum (JPPF) has decided to continue its struggle for justice in the Rasana rape and murder case, wherein it has demanded an independent and impartial CBI enquiry.
Addressing an emergency meeting, attended by different sabhas and respected members, JPPF president, Pavittar Singh Bhardwaj, said that people have lost faith in the charge sheet presented by Crime Branch in Rasana case and the recent startling revelations and media reports have exposed the CB hypocrisy, besides strengthened the grounds for CBI enquiry.
He repeated the firm determination of JPPF for an independent CBI enquiry to impart justice to the innocent and minor victim by exemplary punishment to the rapist and killers in the case. The whole Jammu society stands behind the victim’s family in this hour of grief and is equally concerned for justice. The demand of the CBI enquiry itself speaks that Jammuites are eager for justice to the victim and they are against such heinous crime in the society irrespective of caste, creed and color.
In a meeting with Chaudhary Lal Singh, who is spearheading movement for justice to the victim by demanding CBI enquiry in the Rasana episode, JPPF president assured him full support in all aspects till CBI enquiry is ordered in the case.
He said that this episode has created misunderstanding about the people of Jammu and also certain people having vested interest tried to create communal wedge, which is detrimental to the national and secular interest of the country. He said that with the certain revelations and media back-ups the stand of Jammuites has been justified.
Besides working president MS Katoch, the meeting was attended by Inderjeet Khajuria, KB Jandial, Daya Sagar Sharma, Abhinav Sharma, Naryan Singh (president, Rajput Sabha), VP Sharma (president, Brahimin Sabha), Pritam Sharma and many others.
