JPDCL imposes Rs 3.5 lakh fine on defaulters

JAMMU, June 12: Jammu Power Development Corporation Limited (JPDCL) today conducted an inspection drive in Gandhi Nagar and adjoining areas and imposed fine to the tune of Rs 3.5 lakh on the defaulters.
The drive was conducted on the direction of the Chief Engineer JPDCL, Gurmeet Singh by a team of the officials of Electric Sub-Division 1, Green Belt Gandhi Nagar, under the direct supervision of PD Singh (Executive Engineer).
Along with field staff, the team checked various houses in Gandhi Nagar, Green Belt Park and Sainik Colony areas and found 60 Air Conditioners running illegally by puncturing service cable. All the defaulters were fined and revenue of Rs 3.50 lakh was generated by imposing fine.
PD Singh appealed the general public to avail benefits of amnesty scheme. He issued strict warning to general public not to indulge in illegal activities. “Defaulters will not just be fined, but also strict legal action will be taken against them,” he further warned.
