JPDCL disconnects 200 power connections

JAMMU, Feb 21: A team of Jammu Power Distribution Corporation Limited (JPDCL) Gangyal under the directions of the Corporation Managing Director, Shiv Anant Tayal and led by P.D Singh, Executive Engineer, Electric Division-II, Gandhi Nagar and AEE, Gangyal, Nitin Mahajan carried out drive to disconnect connections of wilful defaulters of PDD having huge pending arrears.
During drive big industrial establishments, various commercial and domestic connections having huge pending arrears were disconnected among which some are MG Industries at Bari Brahmana, stone crusher at Chattha, domestic and commercial consumers at Nai Basti, Raipur Satwari, Satwari, Jawahar Nagar, Rampura, Chowadi, Preet Nagar, Bandhu Rakh and Kunwani.
As per official spokesman of JPDCL, their Enforcement Team headed by Executive Engineer along with Assistant Executive Engineer, Assistant Engineer, Feeder Managers and other field staff conducted inspections in different sections of Electric Sub Division Gangyal and apprised the consumers that the consumers having huge pending arrears should clear their dues at an earliest as revenue realization is very important to provide good quality power to people.
The readings of more than 20 industrial units were randomly checked to stop power theft.
A handout of JPDCL stated that some big industrial houses have huge pending arrears and strict action shall be taken against them if they fail to clear their dues in next few days.
Owners of the industries were sensitised towards paying electricity bills regularly so that the power deficit could be reduced.
Those who participated in the drive were P.D Singh, Executive Engineer; Nitin Mahajan, Assistant Executive Engineer; Assistant Engineer, Rajesh Kumar; Junior Engineer, Hiteshwar Sood, Amit Gupta, Parvinder Kaur, Meter Readers, Sarvinder Singh, Darshan Kumar, Rohit Kumar, Gautam Kumar and others.
