JAMMU, Aug 10: Jammu Pharmaceutical Distributors Association (JPDA) today clarified on the confusion created by an advertisement published in print media wherein its three office bearers along with few others in wholesale trade of pharmaceuticals created another association with almost a similar name self proclaiming themselves as the new office bearers of the Association.
Addressing a press conference here today, President of the Association Rakesh Gupta said that this newly created association with almost similar name was totally a newly formed association and their association which is more than 4 decades old has nothing to do with them and that they shall not be responsible for any acts or actions done by the new association and its office bearers.
He further said that they suspect the hand of multi-brand chains in the business of medicines behind this move as their association was not giving co-operation to them and hence, they were facing a tough competition to establish themselves. He also said that through many press conferences in the recent past they demanded reduction in MRPs in the interest of people at large, which was troubling many.
Gupta said there was no “General Body Meeting” of their association recently on any election/nomination issue which speaks volumes about the un-constitutional and un-democratic way of self proclaiming of being office bearers of a new association, name of which is similar to theirs to create confusion.
He further said that “The Jammu Pharmaceutical Distributors Association, Jammu Province” totally disassociates itself from its three office bearers namely Rajan Gupta, Brijesh Gupta and Ravinder Gandaral, who have formed the new association.
Gupta also said that soon their association will be convening a “General Body Meeting” to elect/nominate the 3 vacant posts for smooth functioning and take effective measures to implement the decisions in the interest of our Trade & Association.
