JAMMU, May 27: Minister for Urban Development and Urban Local Bodies Nawang Rigzin Jora today conducted tour of Jammu city and took stock of the pace of progress on various developmental projects being executed under Urban Development sector.
During the tour, the Minister visited fruit and vegetable market at Muthi and took stock of pace of construction work there, under execution by the Jammu Municipal Corporation. He directed the concerned for accelerating the pace of construction work ensuring timely completion of the fruit market.
The fruit and vegetable market spread over 4 kanals of land is being constructed at a project cost of Rs. 76 lakh. He was informed that the work on the same is going-on in full swing and is expected to be completed soon.
The Minister also inspected the Durga Nagar Park having area of 8 kanals to be completed at an estimated cost of Rs. 26 lakh. He directed the executing agencies to complete the same within stipulated time frame so that the people of the area will avail benefit of the park.
Earlier, the Minister visited the site for construction of proposed 96 flats in area of about 15.5 kanals.
The other proposed projects inspected by Minister are shopping mall behind Hotel Asia and shopping complex at Muthi.
He also inspected the basic infrastructure work like lane, drain and blacktopping at Roop Nagar Colony.
Among others, Vice Chairman, Jammu Development Authority (JDA), Sushma Chauhan, Commissioner Jammu Municipal Corporation, Joint Commissioner JMC, and other senior officers of the concerned departments accompanied the Minister.
