Joint Forum of KPs discusses demands

JAMMU, Oct 11: The Joint Forum of KP organizations in a meeting here, today discussed prevailing political situation in the State and country.
The meeting was attended by H L Chatta, president ASKPC, Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo president PK, H N Jattu, president AIKPC, D N Kissu, chairman ASKPUF, Sardar Prem Singh, president KSDF and Virender Raina official spokesperson Joint Forum.
It made an appeal to community members to contact the Forum leaders in case of encroachment of temple land and properties in Valley.
Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo in his address said that Joint Forum has decided to take proactive measures to consolidate the KP opinion and also to expand and extend the reach and ambit of the Forum further.
He said in the coming days the Forum will reach out to more KP groups and associations to take the struggle in exile to greater heights. The meeting said the geo-political aspirations of the Kashmiri displaced Hindus are sacrosanct for all the organizations that plead the cause of the community.
H L Chatta criticized the State Government for lack of interest in settling the problems of displaced people and alleged that Government in the just concluded session of State Legislature has not addressed a single issue of the community.
H N Jattu, Mr Kissu, Prem Singh and Virender Raina demanded hike in cash relief in accordance to Cabinet decision. They said the demand was also raised before Parliamentary Standing Committee and also before Union Home Secretary recently.
They further advocated for one time package for overaged displaced youth. The Forum urged the displaced youth to approach HRD Ministry for scholarships also.
