JAMMU, Mar 17: To add in the beauty of City of Temples, Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) will install 19 fountains in 19 wards of the city and work on the same wills start soon.
This was disclosed by JMC Mayor, Chander Mohan Gupta while addressing a meeting at Ward 44 Nanak Nagar here, today. The Mayor said besides in all 75 wards of the city open gyms will be established for the children.
He said Government has taken many steps for the development of the Jammu city and the Cable Car Project for Bagh Bahu which is complete in all respects will start functioning soon as its technical report has come. Mayor said that work on four lanning of Akhnoor road is going fast and the work on Jammu Artificial Lake will be started soon.
He said the Bus Stand parking will also be inaugurated before the Darbar move and work on Jammu Zoo will also begin soon as Rs 50 crore have been received for this ambitious project. He said work on Mubarak Mandi is also going on and Rs 66 crore have been sanctioned for the same also, besides work on Yoga Centre at Mantalai in Chenani area is also on.
The meeting was organized by Surjeet Singh, general secretary All J&K PoJK Sharnarthi Intellectuals Forum. The meeting among others was attended by Baldev Singh Billoria, chairman Sanitation Committee JMC. On the occasion corporator Ward No 44 Inder Singh Soodan was also honoured.
Baldev Singh Billoria highlighted the sanitation and other facilities in health sector provided by JMC. He said all the garbage of Jammu City will be recycled like metropolitan cities of the country.
The residents assured full cooperation to JMC in keeping city green and clean. Others who were present included Advocate Amrik Singh, Group Captain (retd) H S Sudan, Jagjit Singh and Bhupinder Singh. The vote of thanks was proposed by Surjeet Singh who also highlighted some local issues.
