JAMMU, May 13: Ahead of upcoming General House Meeting of Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister, Kavinder Gupta convened a meeting of BJP Councillors to devise a strategy to further the cause of fulfilling civic amenities and services in Jammu city.
The meeting discussed several issues of vital nature besides exploring the areas on which Councillors shall focus in coming time.
JMC Mayor, Chander Mohan Gupta briefed the meeting about achievements of the civic body and works accomplished in the recent past.
He assured that he will not take rest until Jammu’s name is figured in the list of most beautiful and well maintained cities of the country.
Parmod Kapahi, Chief Whip BJP and Inderjeet Sharma, organizing secretary also shared the dais.
Kavinder said that no doubt the JMC has emerged as people-friendly department but still there are lot of issues which need to be addressed and people’s feedback is the only measure to get the right picture about ground situation.
He said that Councillors should work in a way to make JMC a one-stop solution to all civic problems of Jammu city people.
Kavinder also raised the issue of expediting the work on solid waste management projects and ongoing works under the Smart City Projects.
