JAMMU, May 23: In its ongoing anti-encroachment drive, Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) here today removed encroachments from footpaths at the market of Sunder Singh Gurudwara area.
JMC sources informed that the encroachment is being removed on the order of High Court.
All the items placed on footpath by the shopkeepers were lifted by JMC officials along with the two wheelers parked outside the workshops.
The shopkeepers were instructed by JMC officers to keep their saleable and other items inside their shops and other business establishments else the same shall be removed as per the rules of the local body.
The vehicular traffic and pedestrian movement is badly affected in the city due to encroachment of roads, streets and footpaths.
Police department also assisted actively in anti-encroachment drive by the JMC.
