JAMMU, Mar 27: Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) today realized compounding fee of Rs 5,300 from 18 defaulters under Municipal Corporation Act 2000.
A team of Food Safety Officers, Sanitary Inspectors and other field staff under the supervision of Health Officer Dr Mohammad Saleem Khan conducted a tour in Kunjwani, Gangyal, Gandhi Nagar and Shastri Nagar and checked various food establishment and moving vendors.
A compounding fee of Rs 5,300 was realized from 18 defaulters under Municipal Corporation Act 2000 during the tour. About 10 kilograms of Petha and other sweet items, which were found unhygienic, were destroyed on the spot.
