JMC Mayor takes stock of sanitation, other issues

JAMMU, Apr 23: Chander Mohan Gupta, Mayor Jammu Municipal Corporation, along with Purnima Sharma, Deputy Mayor JMC and Baldev Singh Billowria, Chairman Health & Sanitation Committee JMC, conveyed a meeting of Sanitary Supervisors at Town Hall Jammu and took stock of sanitation & other related issues of the city.
The meeting was also attended by Pardeep Singh Manhas, Joint Commissioner (A) and Dr Saleem Khan, Health Officer. All the sanitary Supervisors were directed strictly to work with full dedication and hard work especially in the field and provide their best to the expectation of general public on routine basis in the ongoing summer and coming rainy season. “Get the drains desilted properly, China Grass may be got uprooted by the existing field staff of their ward to avoid any type of Dengue and other diseases,” said the Mayor and also directed the concerned to start the proper fogging and spray in each ward of JMC and cover all the collection points within the city with proper boundary wall so that garbage may not scatter on the road side. He further directed that the compost machine lying idle at Parade collection point be removed immediately which has covered the whole area.
Deputy Mayor also directed the Health officer to personally visit the Heritage Ragunath Bazar and its adjoining areas where lot of pilgrims visit every day and take necessary measures to have a better look to the said area, monitor the night scavenging work in the old city. Chairman also directed the Supervisory staff to co-operate with all the Corporators of JMC in their respective wards without any confliction so that sanitation may improve better.
Sanitary Supervisors requested the chair that Auto with manpower as well as wheel barrows and other tools may be provided to the SKCs so that they can work in an effective manner and assured that they would provide their best in the field to make Jammu neat, clean and green under Swachh Bharat Mission.
