JMC marks yellow lines in city areas to restrict encroachments

JAMMU, Aug 25: Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) today marked yellow lines along footpaths and roads in various parts of city to restrict encroachments.
In compliance to the directions issued by Division Bench regarding removal of encroachments from the footpaths, Arvind Kotwal, Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation accompanied by Pardeep Singh Manhas, Joint Commissioner (A), JMC, Sunaina Sharma, Secretary, JMC, Kushal Chand, Joint commissioner (W), JMC along with other departments toured extensively in the areas of Shalamar to City Chowk, City Chowk to Lakhdata Bazar Chowk, Gali Chabeel Wali, Gali Dal Wali, Mohalla Partap Garh and Peepelwala Ahata of Jammu city.
During the tour, a yellow line was drawn in the above mentioned areas in order to restrict the shopkeepers from encroaching the footpaths and pavements. Commissioner, JMC also issued instructions to the shopkeepers to keep their goods within their shutter line to avoid any penal action against them which may lead to sealing of their shops also.
JMC Commissioner appealed to the Jammuites to co-operate with JMC for making Jammu city a real smart city.
Office bearers of Chamber of Commerce and Market presidents also accompanied the JMC officers. They assured full support to JMC for removal of illegal encroachments and illegal cemented slabs over the drains within the JMC limits.
Among others Executive Engineer, Trikuta Division, JMC, AK Gupta, AEE (workshop), JMC, Tariq Raina, Enforcement/Revenue Officers, JMC, Parmod Kumar, Ashwani Sudan, Parveen Gupta and Sunil Gupta, representatives from PWD(R&B), PDD, BSNL Jammu and enforcement team of JMC accompanied the Commissioner, JMC during the tour.
