JMC launches Swacch Bharat Abhiyan with Bank of Baroda

JAMMU, Jan 1: Commissioner JMC Kiran Wattal on the beginning of the year 2015 carried out a part of Swacch Bharat Abhiyan in collaboration with Bank of Baroda at Purani Mandi Jammu, where large numbers of peoples / shopkeepers, D.K. Koul Senior Manager of Bank of Baroda and his employees were present. The officers of JMC, Secretary JMC, Astt. Commissioner Revenue, JMC, XEn, Health Officer, Chief Transport Officer, Municipal Veterinary Officer, AEEs, and others staff of JMC accompanied the Commissioner.
Jung Bhadur Sharma President of Purani Mandi Bazaar Association, Sham Lal Verma Chairman of Purani Mandi Bazaar Association, Rajinder Singh general secretary, Chain Singh, vice president were present on the occasion & welcomed the Commissioner JMC and his officers.
Before the start of Swacch Bharat Abhiyan Commissioner JMC appealed to the people that it is the moral responsibility of every citizen to keep the city neat and clean. He further said that no department can fulfill the desires of the people without their own participation. On this occasion he distributed plastic dustbins to all the shop keepers of the area to put their daily waste in these plastic dustbins. He also gave instructions to the XEn electrical to install 6 numbers of street lights and repair the defunct lights immediately. Installation of one no. high mast light at the center of the Chowk was also approved by the Commissioner of JMC.
