JAMMU, Nov 15: Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) today conducted an intensive drive against illegal rehries/pharies and encroachers causing traffic congestion and obstructing free movement of pedestrians on footpaths.
The drive was conducted by Revenue Section under the guidance of Assistant Commissioner (Revenue), JMC, on the instructions of Commissioner, JMC, Dr Manmohan Singh.
The team visited various areas of Jammu City viz KC Chowk, Bakshi Nagar, Akhnoor Road and removed 20 illegal rehries plying on the main roads causing traffic congestion. Besides, the team seized three rehries plying without obtaining license from JMC and other materials like weighing machines and plastic containers, and cleared the footpaths and pavements.
