JMC imposes fine on meat sellers

JAMMU, May 20: Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) conducted a surprise drive in different areas of Jammu City to ensure the sale of wholesome and good quality meat and meat byproducts to the consumers on eve of Eid-ul-Fitr.
The drive was conducted at CPO Chowk, Janipur, Newplot, Durga Nagar, Paloura, Talab Tillo Poonch House, etc.
During the drive, various meat shops were checked and about 25 kilograms of substandard meat was seized and later on disposed off properly. A fine to the tune of Rs 7100 was also imposed on meat sellers selling unstamped meat.
