JAMMU, Mar 21: Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) here today demolished an illegal structure built by one Gagan Sethi on the slope of a hillock at Circular Road.
A handout of JMC stated that the structure was endangering lives of passer by there, and men and machinery of JMC demolished it keeping in view the safety of general public.
The demolition operation was personally supervised by Avny Lavasa, Commissioner JMC and Ashish Gupta, Joint Commissioner JMC.
Chief Enforcement Officer, Enforcement Officer and subordinate staff of Enforcement Wing of JMC along with active assistance by police force led by Deepak Thakur I/C Police Post Chowk Chabutara accomplished the demolition operation.
JMC has appealed to the public to seek building permissions for raising buildings and refrain from illegal constructions to avoid penal actions leading to demolitions.
