JAMMU, Feb 16: Councillor of Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), Amit Gupta today started lane, drain and tile work at Rani Mandir in Ward 19 at the cost of Rs. 25 lakh.
A handout stated that tiles in the area were in dilapidated condition since long and the locals especially elders were facing a lot of problems while passing through these lanes.
Speaking on the occasion the Councillor appealed to the general public to come forward and cooperate with JMC in various development works undertaken by it in Jammu city.
He urged upon the locals of the Ward to avoid single use plastic and polythene in routine works and refrain from throwing debris, garbage, filth etc in drains and streets.
Amit Gupta asked the residents of the Ward to adopt the habit of segregation of dry and wet garbage at their own level so that Jammu can be made neat, clean, green and beautiful city.
Local of the area Rajiv Gupta, Raj Kumar Gupta, Vijay Kumar, Sachin Kochhar, Swarn Singh Chib, Brij Mehra, Shammi Mehra, V.P Singh and others were also present on the occasion.
