JAMMU, Nov 23: Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) today conducted an intensive drive against illegal rehries/pharies and encroachers causing traffic congestion, and obstructing free movement of pedestrians on footpaths.
The drive was conducted by Revenue Section of JMC led by Assistant Commissioner (Revenue), Subah Mehta, on the instructions of JMC Commissioner, Dr Manmohan Singh.
The team visited various areas of Jammu City viz Panama Chowk, Gandhi Nagar and Bahu Plaza Road and lifted 10 illegal rehries plying on the main roads causing traffic congestion and seized three trucks of material placed outside the shops and cleared the footpaths and pavements in these areas.
