JAMMU, Nov 18: Commissioner Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) during his surprise visit to Ambphalla, Panjtirthi, Pacca Danga, Moti Bazaar, Jain Bazaar and Parade inspected quality of milk in these localities.
A fine of Rs 50,500 was realised from the defaulters on spot. The Commissioner also gave a warning to the milk shop owners and confectioners to ensure good quality of milk as per the laid down parameters.
The Commissioner JMC also took cognizance of in- sanitary conditions in the area and directed the health Officer to launch a sanitation drive immediately.
He also directed Chief Enforcement Officer to clean the footpaths and pavements from encroachments made by shopkeepers etc which is obstructing free flow of vehicular traffic. During the drive some reharis besides one scooter carrying polythene carry bags were also seized.
