Citizens highlighted problems of stagnant water, blocked drains and damaged infrastructure, which the Corporation promised to address on priority.
Dr Yadav directed the teams from the Engineering, Transport and Sanitation wings to undertake restoration work on a war footing.
Orders were also issued to drain out accumulated water through suction pumps and dewatering machines, clear blockages in stormwater lines and culverts and remove debris from drainage channels to restore normal water flow.
The officials were also asked to monitor sensitive areas round the clock to prevent further inconvenience to the public.
Appealing for public cooperation, the JMC Commissioner urged residents to exercise caution during this spell of rainfall.
People have been advised to avoid unnecessary movement in low-lying areas, keep away from swollen drains and rivers, and refrain from dumping solid waste into drains, which worsens waterlogging.
Meanwhile, residents have been urged to stay alert, follow safety advisories, and contact JMC’s helplines (9419027458, 9469300005, 9419156769) in case of any emergency, or rush to the nearest JMC office for quick assistance.
