JMC clears encroachment

JAMMU, Jan 14: Continuing and intensifying anti- encroachment drive to clear footpaths and pavements along the roadside, the Enforcement and Revenue staff of Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) under the instructions of JMC Commissioner, Avny Lavasa here today removed encroachment at Indira Chowk and Panama Chowk areas.
The anti-encroachment drive was led by JMC’s Assistant Commissioner Revenue.
The goods and articles kept by shopkeepers on encroached footpath were seized along with Rehris installed illegally on footpaths and along roadside.
In a handout the JMC has appealed to all the citizens of Jammu particularly shopkeepers and vendors to not to encroach upon footpaths and pavements along the roadside as the same may cause inconvenience to the pedestrians and also creates obstruction in the free movement of vehicular traffic.
