JLNM to come up as tertiary care hospital: Sagar

SRINAGAR, Oct 21: While maintaining that Government has initiated several schemes for upgradation of the health infrastructure in the state, the Minister for Rural Development and Panchayat, Ali Mohammad Sagar said that necessary steps have already been undertaken so that Jawahar Lal Nehru Memorial Hospital comes up as a tertiary care hospital.
The Minister was addressing the Medical Superintendents of JLNM, Gousia Hospital and PHC SR Gunj during a review meeting of Rogi Kalyaan Samiti here today. It was attended by the Medical Superintendents of JLNM, Gousia Hospital and ZMO Srinagar.
The Minister said that it has been the endeavour of the Government to ensure that the people get quality health care facilities.
Mr. Sagar said several schemes have also been launched which have been responsible for ensuring health care benefits to people in the city as well as rural areas. He said that under National Health Mission, Government has introduced several programmes which have contributed a lot in upgradation of the health infrastructure and also in extending various benefits to the people.
Later, the Minister inaugurated the Tehsil Office at Khanyar and laid foundation stone of Sub District Magistrates office at Baghi Dilawar Khan. He was accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Farooq Ahmad Shah and other senior officers of district administration.
While interacting with the people, the Minister said that these would go a long way in ensuring that the governance reaches to the ground level and people get requisite facilities within their respective areas. He said that by setting up of different administrative units in various parts of the state the pace of development of these will be speeded up and the implementation of various welfare programmes would be fast paced.
