JAMMU, Oct 3: Newly formed Jammu and Kashmir Unity Foundation has announced to observe ‘Black Day’ on October 22, the day when Pakistan had invaded the State in 1947 resulting into occupation of a large part of J&K and uprooting of lakhs of people who were rendered as refugees.
Decision in this regard was taken during an executive meeting of the Foundation, here today.
JKUF will put the events of Pakistani invasion in its factual perspective and educate the people particularly the young budding students about these matters so that citizens of the State could be galvanized to meet the challenges in the near future, the meet observed.
Foundation will conduct seminars, workshops, discussions and rallies across the State as a part of its awareness programme particularly with an emphasis on the participation of the youth of the State.
Those present in the meeting, included Kuljeet Singh, Dr Indervir Singh, Rakesh Char-gotra, Parvez Ahmed, Push-vinder Singh, Rashid Choudhary and Sanjay Gupta.
