JKTMA discusses burning issues of Teachers/Masters

JAMMU, Feb 20: Monthly meeting of Jammu Kashmir Teachers/Masters Association (JKTMA) was held here today under the chairmanship of State president Rakesh Singh to discuss the burning issues of Teacher/Master, particularly ATD-2021 of left out district and 100 percent DPC of Teachers/Masters to vacant posts of Lecturer.
While speaking on the occasion, Rakesh Singh urged the Principal Secretary B K Singh to take necessary steps to release ATD-2021 of the left out district before proceeding to ATD-2022.
Singh also sought attention of Education Administrative officers of their promise to conduct 100 percent DPC of Teachers/Masters to fill all vacant posts of Lecturers within one month on fast track basis.
He appealed Principal Secretary B K Singh to solve issue of pay anomaly of 2009 batch teachers appointed between July 2009 to December 2009 which arose after implementation of 7th Pay Commission, the file of which is already sent to his office chamber by DSEJ. Singh also demanded separate 50 percent promotion quota for the Masters of Jammu Province as in most of the cases joining of Kashmir Province Teachers is earlier than Jammu province due to which Masters of Jammu became junior and as a result they lag behind from Kashmir province Masters in promotion.
The JKTMA leader expressed his surprise that despite strict direction from Principal Secretary B K Singh to stop the salary of Teachers engaged in Non-academic assignment outside the Education Department for more than three months, most of the concerned DDOs released the same defying the order. He demanded strict action against all such DDOs.
The Association reiterated its demand to regularise the posts of Head Teachers under SSA in order to streamline their salary from own posts. This step would also pave the way for promotion of Teachers to Masters which has been blocked from last 7 years due to freezing of vacant posts of Masters by SSA Head Teachers, added the Association.
Others who spoke on the occasion, included Vivek Gupta (General Secretary), Vikram Gupta (Vice-president), Ravindar Kumar (Chairman), Ajay Kumar (State co-ordinator), Jaisheel Verma (Chief Publicity Secretary), Ajay Sharma and Sohan Lal.
