JKTJAC raises burning issues of teaching fraternity

JAMMU, Jan 15: Jammu Kashmir Teachers Joint Action Committee (JKTJAC) today raised various burning issues of the teaching fraternity including inclusion of teachers appointed under ReT scheme in newly drafted transfer policy.
Addressing a press conference, UT president of JKTJAC Vinod Sharma demanded inclusion of teachers appointed under ReT scheme (3rd Teachers, Teachers Grade II and Teachers Grade III) in newly drafted Transfer Policy as these teachers have been working in the same schools for last 20 years.
He said that even Division Bench of High Court gave judgment in 2017 that teachers appointed under ReT scheme be transferred within the district like other General Line Teachers but still they (ReT teachers) are being discriminated which is matter of great concern.
Sharma also stressed for inclusion of 5 years ReT period for seniority benefits, removal of pay anomaly of teachers as teachers of J&K UT are placed in the pay grade of 2800 whereas teachers of other UTs are placed between grade pay of 4200 to 5000.
He also demanded regularization of ReTs who have completed their 5 years ReT period, appointment of ZEOs in headless zones so that teachers may not suffer, conversion of left out RRETs to Teachers Grade II/III as some cases are withheld due to adverse CID reports on minor changes, release of pay and other arrears of RRETs prior to September 2018, conducting DPC of teachers and creation of posts of masters in upgraded middle schools.
Others who were present in the press conference were Najam Jafri (senior vice chairman), Saleem Sagar (general secretary), Parvez Iqbal (senior vice president), Sukhdev Singh Sumberia (chief coordinator), Riaz ul Rehman (vice chairman), Gulzabir Daing (vice president) and Rajesh Singh Jamwal (provincial president).
