JKTJAC highlights demands of ReTs, RReTs

JAMMU, May 22: Jammu Kashmir Teachers’ Joint Action Committee (JKTJAC) held a meeting, here today under the chairmanship of UT President Vinod Sharma.
The meeting was attended by Executive Members of UT body/province body and District Presidents of Jammu province.
While speaking on the occasion, Vinod Sharma raised the burning issues of the teaching fraternity. Raising the issue of transfer policy for teachers appointed under ReT scheme, he said that these teachers have been serving in the same schools for last more than 20 years and suffering badly and appealed the Principal Secretary School Education to frame the transfer policy as per his commitment.
He also sought favour of the department in High Court for inclusion of 5 years ReT period for seniority benefits, DPC of teachers to Masters as same hasn’t been done since 2014 , conversion of Head Teachers posts to non plan posts of Masters and raising of grade of teachers at par with their counterparts in other UTs.
Speaking on the occasion, General Secretary Najam Jafri demanded that teachers should be made free from all types of non teaching assignments so that they can do their teaching job freely.
Provincial President Jammu, Rajesh Jamwal appealed the Director School Education Jammu to regularise the left out ReTs and convert left out RRETs into teachers Grade II/III.
Others who spoke on the occasion, included Surjit Singh Chib, Sham Sharma, Sukesh Khajuria, Naresh Sharma, Anita Kiran, Subash Chander, Mahesh Kumar, Pawan Kumar, Anil Choudhary, Ravinder Singh, Lekh Raj Parihar, Ravinder Manhas, Dinesh Singh, Sayad Shahnawaz, Balwan Singh, Hari Lal Nag, Surnandan Singh, Manzoor Khan, Javid Ahmed Bali, Ranjit Singh, Mohider Partap Singh and Inderjit Singh.
