JKTF urges Government to resolve salary issue of SSA Head Teachers

JAMMU, July 28: A meeting of the central executive body of Jammu Kashmir Teachers Forum was held today under the chairmanship of Ganesh Khajuria, State Chairman, in which the chronic issue of the salary of Masters posted as Head Teachers in the upgraded SSA Schools (now SAMAGRA) was discussed.
A threadbare discussion was held to resolve the issue which pertains to the Masters who were appointed through JKSSRB and promoted as Masters under State Non-Plan scheme by the Education Department till the authorities at the helm of affairs transferred them to the upgraded Middle Schools under SSA schemes as the Head Teachers throwing all the existing rules and norms into wind without any fault of theirs.
While addressing the meeting, Ganesh Khajuria lambasted the authorities of the Education Department for their dilly delaying approach towards the release of the salary of Head Teachers who are at the verge of starvation as they are without salary since March 2019 and hence cannot meet their both ends. “It is now beyond their capacity and limits to purchase the medicines for their ailing parents and pay school fees of their kids,” he said.
Ganesh Khajuria lamented that despite repeated representations to all the concerned seeking redressal of the issue, nothing has been done to resolve the problems of Head Teachers, who pay arrears on account of 7th Pay Commission were also pending. He urged Farooq Khan, Advisor to the Governor, to intervene personally to resolve the salary issue once for all by creating Non-Plan posts in these erstwhile SSA upgraded Middle Schools as in case of other employees of the erstwhile SSA run schools.
The meeting was also addressed by S Surat Singh Toofani, Gopal Singh, Rajinder Gupta, Darshan Sharma, Kuldeep Singh Bandral, Mohd Iqbal, Shankar Singh, Narinder Chib, Bharat Bhushan Sharma, P D Singh, Sushil Sharma, Kuldeep Verma, Majeed Choudary, Parveen Sharma and others.
