JKTF urges DSE to defer detachment of teachers

JAMMU, Jan 19: A deputation of Jammu Kashmir Teachers Forum (JKTF) led by Ganesh Khajuria, State general secretary, met the Director School Education, Jammu and submitted him a memorandum highlighting the burning demands and problems being faced by the teaching fraternity.
Ganesh Khajuria apprised the Director School Education about the situation arisen out of the issuance of detachment order and urged for the immediate revocation of the said order as it will hamper the studies and other academic activities in the department in the peak of the academic session.
The forum appealed the Education authorities to defer the said order till the end of the Academic Session and frame a policy for the suitable adjustment of the cadres of teaching community in their respective parent districts particularly Jammu/Samba and Kathua districts. The priority should be given to those who have been repatriated from other districts after completion of their tenure, it said.
The forum also took up issues of verification of B Ed Degrees, adjustment of all 1100 teachers promoted as Masters in February, 2014 avoiding pick and choose policy, suitable adjustment of genuine cases of Teachers/Masters/Lecturers who are physically handicapped and also suffering from conical/serious ailments and the teaching staff working in the SSA/RMSA/NPS schemes and also the release of GPF grants.
The Director School Education gave a patient hearing and assured the deputation that he will take the matter with higher authorities and shall try his level best for the redressal of the demands put-forth by the forum.
The deputation comprised of  Rajinder Gupta, Satish Dutta, Gopal Singh, Jamat Ali Agha, Ram Prasad, Subash Sharma, Amar Nath Thakur, Yog Raj Singh,  Rajeshwar Singh, Surat Singh, Toofani, Darshan Sharma,  Ravinder Singh, Meera Sharma, Amita Kumari, Kamini Sharma, Gujreet Singh, Shankar Singh, Ajit Verma, Rahal Sambyal and others.
